Every person has a story worth telling. I’ve always heard that Memphis is a city known for its stories. As a reporter at ABC 24, I’m excited to now help tell those stories.
Eli joined the ABC 24 team in June 2011, after reporting for five years at KWTX-TV in Waco, Texas. While at KWTX, Eli was one of the first reporters on the scene of the November 2009 shooting rampage at Fort Hood. Eli delivered extensive live reports for nearly a week. While in Waco, Eli’s stories uncovered injustices that led to the resignation of a number of public officials and influenced policy changes.
Eli has won one individual and one team Texas Associated Press Broadcasters awards.
Prior to working in Waco, Eli reported for KAUZ-TV in Wichita Falls, Texas.
Eli was born in Salem, Oregon, and grew up in Overland Park, Kansas. Eli attended Northwestern University in Chicago, where he graduated with a degree in Political Science. He also received a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications.
In addition to reporting, Eli likes to teach his craft. Prior to moving to Memphis, Eli worked as an adjunct professor at Baylor University.
Eli is excited to now call Memphis home, and wants to hear from you. If you have a good story idea, email Eli at
