Randy Wimbley joined ABC24 in July of 2010. Randy comes to the Mid South after weathering ice storms and mountains of snow, as a reporter in Saginaw, Michigan. There, Randy covered a range of news stories from the murder of a pro-life activist to political corruption and was the first to report on fifty foot ice floes that crashed onto Michigan’s bay front from Lake Huron in the Spring of 2009.
Born and raised in metro Detroit, Randy rode the highs and lows as a Piston fan and endured the ridicule of the Lions’ 0-16 season. But come March, he’ll unashamedly cheer on the MSU Spartans (sorry Tigers fans).
When Randy is not investigating news leads or covering the action as it happens, he enjoys studying theology, having a good argument (ask his fiancée), working out and spending time with family and friends.
If you see Randy out and about town, be sure to say hi. And if you have an idea for a story idea he’ll be glad to hear it.
