MEMPHIS, TN--Sunshine is back in the Mid-South today and temperatures will be pleasant. Highs today will climb into the lower mid 50's across much of the area, but a reinforcing shot of cold air will arrive tonight. Friday will be startling with how cold temperatures will be. Temperatures will start off tomorrow in the lower and mid 20's and will only climb into the low and mid 30's for Friday afternoon! Brrr! Sunshine will stick around tomorrow, but another surge of moisture will arrive Saturday.
There is a small window of opportunity for light freezing rain early Saturday morning. Ground temperatures will be below freezing. Meanwhile, rain will spread into the Mid-South from the north. Roads could be slick early Saturday morning. Temperatures will warm up quickly by mid-morning and will end the freezing rain threat. Light rain showers will be possible for the rest of Saturday.
