MEMPHIS, TN--A breezy southerly wind will be the main player in the warm weekend ahead. Temperatures on Saturday will climb towards the 70 degree mark. Mid and high level clouds will arrive this evening and will hang around for the next several days. Despite on filtered sunshine, highs will still be well above normal with temperatures on Sunday in the lower 70's. Record highs will not be met over the weekend, but we will come very close to record highs on Monday. The previous record high temperature on December 3rd is 75, previously set back in 1982. High temperatures will come within a degree of and/or possibly tie the record high on Monday.
Rain arrives to the Mid-South late Monday night with widespread rain anticipated on Tuesday. Temperatures will fall slightly once the rain departs on Wednesday. Temperatures will return to near normal or slightly above normal for next Wednesday before another warm-up begins. Highs will again spike into the 70's ahead of what appears to be a potent weather system that will arrive next weekend. We will keep an eye on the late week system as it develops next week.
Have a great weekend!
