MEMPHIS, TN--Let us be thankful for the weather today! The calm, mild weather will continue today for Thanksgiving with sunshine and highs in the lower 70's. Mild weather will continue overnight tonight once the feast is over. Changes arrive late tonight with the entrance of clouds to the Mid-South. Moisture return to the area will give us a few light showers early Friday morning. Black Friday shoppers should keep a poncho in the car, but any shower activity should be light at best. The time frame for showers Friday morning will be between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. Dry air will quickly work into the area to end the rain and clear out the clouds by mid morning.
Temperatures will turn much colder Friday afternoon, falling into the mid 50's by lunchtime. Freezing temperatures are likely Friday night with a cold Saturday to follow. Sunshine will stick around for the weekend, but highs on Saturday and Sunday will only top out in the 50's. Rain returns to the Mid-South late Sunday night and will stick around through Tuesday. This weather-maker will bring us a better shot of heavier rain during that period.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your friends and family today.
