MEMPHIS, TN--Our crazy weather pattern continues! Temperatures have drastically fallen since Saturday afternoon. Drier air will nose in tonight to help temperatures drop into the 20's, but clouds will remain across most of the Mid-South. Computer models continue to indicate a surge of moisture from the south on Monday. The tale end of the weather system moving out of the Mid-South will snake northward tomorrow afternoon. Temperatures will gradually warm into the low and mid 30's tomorrow which will provide an opportunity for perhaps a wintry mix. Ground temperatures are well above freezing thanks to our previous days in the 60's and 70's. Therefore, any frozen precipitation will likely not stick. However, slick bridges and overpasses will be impacted tomorrow afternoon. Most of our real estate tomorrow will see a very cold rain.
Rain will end Monday night and the first half of Tuesday will be dry. A third wave of moisture again will spread into the Mid-South (mainly south of I-40) and provide another opportunity for a cold rain or perhaps a light wintry mix. Dry weather will return beginning on Wednesday with a moderating trend in temperatures through the weekend.
Be safe driving tonight and tomorrow. We have received numerous reports of high water across the Mid-South. Have a great week everyone!
