MEMPHIS, TN--It has been a perfect day to stay inside and watch college football! A large area of rain is slowly making its way northward through most of the Mid-South. The heaviest rain resides along the river in northwestern Mississippi with off and on light rain showers occurring in other locations. Overcast skies will continue through the first half of Tuesday as this system appears to be a slow-moving one. More rain will ramp up overnight into early Monday. Therefore, have the umbrella with you for your Monday morning commute! Temperatures will only drop a few degrees overnight with lows in the mid and upper 50's to start off tomorrow. Winds will become quite breezy overnight and during the day Monday.
Highs will be cool on Monday with only a slight warm-up on the way for Tuesday. Filtered sunshine will arrive for Tuesday afternoon and mid-week looks dry and pleasant with highs in the upper 70's and lower 80's. Our next weather-maker arrives during the Friday/Saturday time frame. The computer models have been quite inconsistent with the exact timing of this next system so it will be closely monitored. Temperatures will cool off nicely behind this second system in time for next Sunday.
Have a great work week everyone!
