Warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico arrives on a south wind this afternoon with highs approaching 60 for most.  It is in advance of a major storm system moving from eastern Mexico north to Oklahoma over the next two days.  By tomorrow morning scattered showers will develop and hang around all day but the brunt of the heavy rain and storms remains in southeast Texas and southern Louisiana.

The heavy rain axis shifts east by Thursday putting a bullseye over the Mid South with a couple of inches possible.  We have one dry day Friday before another multi-day round of rain begins Saturday.  Your umbrella will get a good work out this week, but the furnace gets a few days off.
