A winter weather cocktail is on the table beginning late morning through around mid afternoon in Memphis today.  Liquid equivalents will be less than a .1" of an inch and temperatures will be just above freezing.  Most of this will fall in the form of rain, freezing to elevated surfaces (trees, etc), and some sleet mixing in.  As it stands now I am not expecting a major winter weather event for Memphis but there will probably be a few isolated slick spots.

Better chances to see accumulating, or problematic, freezing rain will be in our southeastern Counties in northern Mississippi early this afternoon.  Here we could see rainfall amounts nearing a .1" and if it the mercury holds long enough to 32 degrees then roads could become very slick.  As usual, the Mid South is right on the line and any subtle changes (a colder afternoon or more rainfall) then we could have more serious problems.

Tonight will be dry, but more light rain is possible tomorrow, highs will be in the upper 30s.  The remainder of the week will bring moderating temperatures and highs back into the 50 degree range by Friday.  More sunshine too!
