MEMPHIS, TN--Severe storms overnight left a mess of debris and damage across the Mid-South. Even though the threat for storms has ended, please be careful traveling in damaged areas. Watch for downed power lines and trees and other obstacles on roadways. A few lingering showers under an overcast sky will be possible through midday. Temperatures are already much cooler than this time yesterday. As expected, Memphis tied the record high yesterday of 76 degrees!! Temperatures will hold in the mid 50's for the majority of today, but will fall into the 40's by your evening commute. A cold night is ahead with lows in the low 30's.

Sunshine will return tomorrow and it will be a nice end to the work week. A shallow layer of arctic air will slide into the Mid-South on Friday and temperatures will struggle to climb out of the 30's for HIGHS Friday afternoon. A few isolated showers can't be ruled out on Saturday, but the week looks quiet compared to the active night we had last night.

Have a great Wednesday everyone! Continue to follow us on facebook and twitter!
