MEMPHIS, TN--Scattered showers are traveling west to east along a frontal boundary. Right now, the shower activity is north of I-40, but throughout the day this system will slide southward near the I-40 corridor. Rain chances will increase throughout the day with the best opportunity of rain occurring this afternoon into the evening. Temperatures will vary across the Mid-South today. It will be cooler across the northern tier of the Mid-South due to morning rain and cloud cover. The warmest area will be found in Mississippi where highs this afternoon will again climb into the mid and upper 80's.

Scattered showers will slide into northern Mississippi on Saturday. Conditions will improve north to south throughout the day as drier air works in behind the rain. A few isolated showers can't be ruled out before noon in the metro area, but we should end the day with clearing skies. The second half of the weekend looks pleasant for everyone. Sunshine and highs in the mid and upper 70's are on the way for Sunday through mid-week.

Have a great Friday and a great weekend!
