MEMPHIS, TN--Snow reports range from an inch in parts of Desoto county, MS up to six inches in eastern Arkansas! It certainly was a picture perfect way to end the Christmas holiday. Tonight, clouds will become broken and mostly clear for a few hours. During this time frame overnight, temperatures will drop into the mid teens in areas where snow is still on the ground. Overnight lows will drop into the lower 20's elsewhere across the Mid-South. There could be a few slippery spots on the roadway late tonight and early tomorrow. Ponding water on the road from snow melt this afternoon could re-freeze overnight.

Sunshine returns tomorrow and southeasterly winds in the afternoon will attempt to warm temperatures. It will still be a chilly day with highs around 40 degrees. Clouds will increase late tomorrow night and rain will move into the Mid-South in the wee hours of Friday morning. Initially, areas along and north of I-40 may have slick spots where ground temperatures remain below freezing. Otherwise, this system will bring mostly rain to the area and the rain should exit by early Saturday.

The weekend ahead looks dry and chilly! Bundle up everyone!
