MEMPHIS, TN--Southerly winds continue to transport moisture and mid level clouds into the Mid-South. A few clouds will spit out isolated and light drizzle today. Temperatures will again be mild, but only a few degrees milder than yesterday afternoon. Highs today will climb into the mid and upper 60's across most of the area. Friday will be nearly the same with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures in the lower 70's.
An active weekend is headed our way. Temperatures will climb into the lower and middle 70's on Saturday and Sunday. The surge in heat and moisture will lend a hand to thunderstorms developing both days. Showers and thunderstorms are likely on Saturday. By Sunday, a potent weather system will swing a cold front through the Mid-South. Showers and thunderstorms will likely develop Sunday late afternoon and evening ahead and along the cold front. A few storms could be on the stronger side. Temperatures will fall drastically as the cold front pushes through the Mid-South overnight Sunday. In fact, temperatures will fall during the day on Monday with highs in the 40's!! It will certainly feel like December next week!
Have a great Thursday!
