MEMPHIS, TN-- Severe storms that the Mid-South dealt with over the weekend will slide east today. Remnants of Isaac continue to slowly spin to the northeast. Showers and storms will likely reside east of the Tennessee River this afternoon, but a few showers and storms across the extreme eastern sections of the Mid-South can't be ruled out. The Labor Day holiday will prove to be mainly dry across most of the area and HOT. Temperatures for this "unofficial end of summer" won't disappoint. Highs today will climb into the mid 90's in areas that see the most sunshine. Areas east with more cloud cover will find highs in the lower 90's.

Tuesday will be sunny and hot. Clouds and rain chances return mid-week, but our best chances for more rain will arrive Friday into Saturday. Temperatures look to take a significant dive by Saturday as northerly winds push much cooler air into the area. Highs will be lucky to hit 80 degrees by next Sunday. Hello fall!

Have a great holiday everyone!
