MEMPHIS, TN--Southerly flow continues to pump moisture into the Mid-South. Temperatures have been slightly warmer than yesterday and you can certainly feel the humidity outside. Overnight, a few more clouds will take position across the area. Mild overnight lows will put the Mid-South in place for an even hotter Thursday afternoon. Our next rain-maker will start kicking showers our way after noon tomorrow. Isolated showers will begin to develop and will become more scattered into Thursday evening. Some evening storms will have the potential to be strong or severe. Currently, the northern third of the Mid-South is at the highest risk of seeing a severe storm.
The heaviest rain will arrive after 9 p.m. Thursday and will last into Friday morning. On Friday, rain will taper off from the northwest to the southeast as the day progresses. The weather-maker will slide southward into northern Mississippi Friday night. Showers could be on-going in that area through Saturday. Behind the rain, cooler weather arrives!! High temperatures on Friday will top out in the mid and upper 80's. Saturday and Sunday are my pick of the week for sure! Highs over the weekend will only climb into the lower and possibly middle 80's with overnight lows again dipping into the upper 50's and lower 60's. The Mid-South will stay mainly dry through next week.
Have a great evening!
