MEMPHIS, TN-- A few streaming high clouds have helped to keep our temperatures this afternoon in the 70's. It's been a pleasant fall day. Our next weather system will bring much more active weather to the area tomorrow. Winds will pick up during the day Wednesday with gusts in the afternoon to 25 or 30 miles per hour. Ample moisture, wind shear, and the timing of this system makes severe weather a likely possibility for most of the Mid-South. Isolated storms will develop west of the Mississippi River late in the afternoon. Storms will form into a broken squall line that will move into the Memphis metro area between 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.  Damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are possible with this system. The line of storms will quickly race off to the east and weaken as the night wears on.

Beautiful and milder weather will follow the rain on Thursday with quiet and pleasant weather continuing into the weekend.

Have your weather radios tuned up with fresh batteries for tomorrow evening.
