MEMPHIS, TN--It's been an incredible weekend in the Mid-South. Low humidity and cool mornings have been a teaser to hopefully what is to come in the fall. It is still summer, though, and the humidity returns tonight. Our next weather-maker is headed our way. Moisture will increase overnight, keeping lows a touch milder than the previous two nights. Mostly cloudy skies and an isolated shower are possible Monday morning, but the afternoon hours will be the most interesting. The Storm Prediction Center has placed much of the Mid-South in a slight risk for severe storms. The timing of the event plays a huge role in whether the Mid-South will actually see storms reach severe limits. Isolated to scattered storms are likely Monday afternoon and evening. Storms will have the potential of producing damaging winds, large hail, and an isolated tornado. The ABC24 weather team will monitor the situation tomorrow.
Tuesday and Wednesday will bring much more pleasant weather again. Mid-week should be quiet before another round of showers and storms heads our way for Thursday and Friday. This secondary system will be strong in terms of bringing the area cooler temperatures in its wake. Highs by the weekend will only climb into the middle 80's!
Have a wonderful and safe work week ahead.
