Memphis Weather--The powerful storm system that rocked the Mid-South has moved out of the area leaving colder, more typical temperatures for January in its wake. A SW wind Thursday will warm temperatures into the low to mid 50s with plenty of sunshine. Clouds will increase late Thursday evening in association with a blast of arctic air. A few flurries are possible along a line from Trenton to Selmer Tennessee Thursday night as the front passes. Behind the front, temperatures will fall into the low to mid 20s Friday morning. Temperatures will only reach the upper 30s Friday afternoon serving as a reminder to all that we are still in the winter season. Rain will arrive Saturday. If moisture moves in early enough Saturday, rain may begin as freezing rain. If that happens, freezing rain will transition to rain over the course of an hour or two. Highs Saturday will be near 50 and the warm up continues Sunday and next week. There is a low chance of rain Monday across northern Mississippi.
