Hi everybody! We thought we would share a few things about our dog Doppler. Do you ever get a little scared at night when you hear thunder? Doppler sure does. Sometimes he will hide under the bed. Even though we know that we are safe inside.

Lightning can be beautiful. But we always remember that it can be dangerous. So when we hear thunder or see lightning, we go inside. Sometimes when it thunders, other dogs in the neighborhood start barking. When this happens Doppler likes to bark too. I think it makes him feel like he's part of the group.

Do you have a dog? If you do, Doppler would like to know about it. We also practice our weather safety drills. Do you know what you would do, or where you would go if there was bad weather. Maybe you could talk about it with your Mom and Dad or your teacher.

Doppler has a rain guage and an outdoor thermometer. We like to keep track of how much it rains, and check on the temperature outside every day. Then we keep track of it in a weather journal. Maybe you could do this at your home or school and share what you find out. It can be lots of fun.

Doppler LOVES the snow. Of course we don't get much snow around here, but when we do LOOK OUT! Have you ever played in the snow or had a snowball fight? Doppler EATS THE SNOW! He is SO FUNNY. He ends up with snow on his furry face.
