MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The City of Memphis will observe the Independence Day holiday, Wednesday, July 4th. Residents of Memphis serviced by City of Memphis Solid Waste Management whose regular collection day is Wednesday will receive garbage and recycling collection on Thursday, July 5th.
All other days of the week are not affected; however, there will be little or no collection of excess trash and yard debris on Thursday while crews concentrate on Wednesday and Thursday garbage and recycling only.
Homes serviced by City contractors Republic Services and Waste Connections will receive garbage (cart) and recycling collection one day later beginning Wednesday; however, there will be no yard debris or trash collection on Saturday, July 7th.
The Memphis/Shelby County Household Hazardous Waste Facility located at 6305 Haley Road will be open the normal Tuesday and Saturday schedule.
