On Friday, July 27th, United Way of the Mid-South presented a $14,000 check to the Mid-South Food Bank for its mobile pantry initiative in DeSoto County.
The mobile pantry is an exciting program offered by the Mid-South Food Bank that delivers fruits and vegetables, frozen foods and other nonperishable items in a refrigerated vehicle. United Way is very active in DeSoto County and is dedicated to help feed those who are lacking the proper healthy foods and resources.
“United Way partners with the Mid-South Food Bank in helping those in need of food in our communities,” said Bryce Haugsdahl, United Way President.
The method of food distribution through the mobile pantry will involve unloading the foods once a month at the Lander’s Center (formerly the DeSoto Civic Center), 4560 Venture Drive, Southaven, MS. 38671.
