Several of the fashion boutiques, salons, and more neighboring businesses of South Main are uniting to put on the first of many seasonal Fashion Shows in the up-and-coming Historic Arts District of Downtown Memphis.
The purpose of the event is to collaborate with and promote the businesses of South Main. “We are inviting all of Memphis to come and enjoy the show and get to know the businesses that the neighborhood is home to, while raising funds for local charities,” says Kimberly Taylor, owner of K’Presha and co-organizer of the event. “In addition, we are encouraging everyone to visit and patronize the businesses after the show is over.”
Confirmed boutiques include K’PreSha, Sache, Muse, Shop Girl New York, Everleah’s, Sir Samuels, The Main Event, and The Seen. South Main is home to several salons: Talk of the Town, Sache Salon, Main Event Salon and Chris Styles Celebrity Salon. These businesses will be providing hair and make-up for the models.
“The goal is to host a semi-annual event for the boutiques to show new merchandise for the season and to raise funds for local charities. From this event, 70% of the net proceeds will go to the Ronald McDonald House of Memphis,” states Meredith Broadhead, manager of the Rumba Room and co-organizer of the event.
Ticket prices include a complimentary premium cocktail or appetizer. Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Limited VIP seating is available. This event will be held at the Rumba Room at 303 South Main. Tickets are available for purchase at the Rumba Room and the participating businesses listed above.
