MEMPHIS, TN - Day three of early voting in the MCS charter referendum wrapped up at 7 p.m. on Friday night.
Poll workers report a slow, but steady stream of voters at the one downton polling place that's been open since early voting started Wednesday, February 16th.
Rich Holden, chief administrator of the Shelby County Election Commission, says roughly 130 people cast ballots on Friday, bringing the 3-day total so far, to 544. There are 365,000 registered voters in the City of Memphis.
Many Memphians have figured out, this election is about much more than just merging city and county schools.
"I think this is just the forerunner for consolidation of the city and county," Memphis voter Bryan Wilson tells abc24.com. "That's what I think it is. And that's what I want to see anyway, so we can get onboard like Nashville and Jacksonville, and make our city grow like it needs to, because we're way behind."
