CAK Tops Milan 48-14 For Tennessee Class 3A Title

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Charlie High and his Christian Academy of Knoxville teammates rewrote the record book Friday as the Warriors defeated Milan for the second straight year in the Tennessee Class 3A championship, winning 48-14.

In the win, High set the TSSAA career passing record (10,978 yards, besting Westwood's Kenton Evans with 10,519 from 1993-95), broke his own BlueCross Bowl record with six touchdown passes and fell 16 yards short of his own title game passing record with 461 yards. High, the Class AA Mr. Football Back, was named the game's offensive MVP for the Warriors (14-4).

Davis Howell set the National Foundation of State High School Associations record for career receptions with 358, catching 15 for 172 yards and two touchdowns.

Milan's Davon Andrews was named the defensive MVP, tallying nine tackles, a forced fumble and a pass breakup. Arkel Coleman led the Bulldogs (12-3) with 198 rushing yards and a touchdown.
