HERNANDO, Miss. (AP) — DeSoto County school officials have made a final payment for work on the system's new Career Technology Center in Olive Branch.

The Commercial Appeal reports (http://bit.ly/WwrLOh ) school board members Monday unanimously approved a final payment of $35,763 for renovation of the warehouse in the Olive Branch Metro Industrial park that houses the center.

The payment allows the system to move on, having completed work on a project that added a second vo-tech facility to the DeSoto system, this one on the east side of the county.

The board approved a bid of just over $1 million for a four-classroom addition at Hernando Elementary.

The district also plans to add four classrooms in an existing wing at Hernando Hills Elementary and an eight-classroom building at Southaven Elementary.
