BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - A former member of the Blytheville City Council has been arrested twice for criminal trespassing at apartments owned by the Blytheville Housing Authority.
Carol White says she went to the Clear Lake Apartments to help residents who complained about bed bugs. White was arrested Saturday morning, then again Saturday afternoon after she refused to leave.
White tells the Blytheville Courier News that she came to the public housing complex at the request of residents. But Blytheville Housing Authority director Sue Alexander says White was argumentative and refused to leave.
White says residents were upset because they were asked to pay extermination costs. Alexander says an initial letter asked residents to pay for some costs, but a second mailing was sent saying that residents wouldn't have to pay anything.
