JACKSON, Miss. (AP, abc24.com) - Mississippi is preparing to execute Henry Curtis Jackson Jr. on Tuesday for the stabbing deaths of his two nieces and two nephews, ages 2 to 5.

The children were killed in Jackson's mother's home in Leflore County while she was at church on Nov. 1, 1990. Jackson's adult sister, Regina Jackson, and two other children survived the attack.

Regina Jackson, who lost two daughters to the attack, says she plans to meet Monday afternoon with Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant to ask him to spare her brother's life. Their mother also says she has forgiven him and hopes his life is spared.

Court records say Jackson planned to steal his mother's safe and stabbed the victims when he went to the house that day.
