WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - Westbound lanes of Interstate 40 in West Memphis will be closed at night over a three-day stretch to allow for overpass repairs.
The closure will affect the westbound center and outside lanes on Tuesday and on Jan. 5. The westbound center and inside lanes will be closed Jan. 4. Work is to run from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night.
Also, all westbound lanes will be closed starting at 2 a.m. on Jan. 3, with traffic re-routed to a service road.
Arkansas transportation department crews will be working to replace a steel beam on an overpass that was damaged when it was hit by the raised bed of a dump truck in October.
