LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - A federal judge has sentenced a man involved in a massive drug ring in eastern Arkansas to 40 years in prison.

Sedrick "Binky" Trice said little as the judge went over his sentence Wednesday. Trice pleaded guilty last year to a drug charge and firearms charge. Prosecutors agreed to drop the remaining charges against him as part of the plea deal.

Another defendant, Dempsey Word, is expected to be sentenced later Wednesday. He pleaded guilty to a drug-trafficking charge and faces up to 40 years in prison.

Both men were indicted in a drug and corruption investigation dubbed "Operation Delta Blues."

The investigation focused on Helena-West Helena and culminated in dozens of arrests last fall. Federal prosecutors say more than a dozen people have entered guilty pleas so far.
