Ark. (AP) - Sherwood authorities say a Little Rock police officer is charged with drunken driving after an early-morning traffic stop. A Sherwood police report says the officer, 40-year-old Theddus McRae, was pulled over early Saturday after a patrolman saw him drift over the center line of Brookswood Road.

McRae's vehicle also had a malfunctioning brake light. The report says the officer tried unsuccessfully to administer a blood-alcohol content test to McRae and gave him field sobriety tests.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports McRae was charged with driving while intoxicated and refusing to submit. The vehicle was released to McRae's wife. It wasn't clear whether McRae has an attorney.
