NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP, abc24.com) - A Nashville jury has convicted a man of murder for stabbing his girlfriend 49 times and then fatally shooting her cousin.
Demeko Duckworth was found guilty Wednesday in the deaths of Asia Wade in the bedroom of her home in July 2010 and the death of Clarence Goins shortly afterward.
Each murder conviction carries a sentence of at least 51 years in prison.
Wade, who had six children, also was strangled.
After the slayings, Duckworth drove to Arkansas and then Georgia in Wade's car. He surrendered to U.S. marshals.
