HUTTIG, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - The Union County sheriff is working to learn who placed white crosses with Ku Klux Klan symbols at five sites in Huttig.

The El Dorado News-Times reports that the crosses were planted at the home of Mayor Tony Cole, across from City Hall and at a business owned by the husband of Alderman Laura Manning, among other places.

Sheriff Mike McGough says the incidents are likely related to the recent termination of former police chief Byron Sartor.

Huttig has about 600 residents.

The sheriff's department is investigating and McGough says the FBI has been contacted about the incidents.

This is so embarrasing! I am originally from Arkansas and everyone across the nation already thinks that Arkansans are backward inbreds. The KKK, really??? Thought that mess died years ago. Grow up idiots!!! Start trying to uplift and help a community prosper instead of acting like dumba$$es. Unbelieveable!!!
