LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - Officials with the Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission say they've received multiple complaints about long waiting times after the airport upgraded its passenger security checkpoint.
Retired Army Gen. Wesley Clark, who's a member of the commission, says the delays at the checkpoint recently caused six people to miss their flights. The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette reports that the complaints come less than three months after the airport unveiled its $1.7 million expansion to the security checkpoint.
Officials expected the expansion to reduce waiting times for passengers. The airport added a security lane and two full-body scanners.
But the TSA says the wait time hasn't changed since the new technology was installed - it's still an average of 15 to 18 minutes.
