LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - The director of Little Rock's airport says passenger complaints of more than hour-long waits to get through security screening can't be duplicated and that many passengers are not arriving early enough for their flights.
Executive director Ron Mathieu says some passengers arrive less than an hour before their flight is to leave - despite airport and airlines advisories that they arrive at least 90 minutes before departure. The airport's website tells passengers to arrive two hours early because of construction.
Transportation Security Administration spokeswoman Sari Koshetz told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette that changes made in response to the complaints include adding a second screener during peak times.
The airport also reports that the number of travelers going through the airport is up by about 10.5 percent this year.
