LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP, abc24.com) - Police arrested four members of Occupy Little Rock as the city evicted the group from its protest site in downtown Little Rock.

Officers made the arrests shortly before 2 p.m. Wednesday - nearly seven hours after the group's permit expired. Police spokesman Terry Hastings says police waited until mid-afternoon to give the protesters time to meet, move their belongings and decide what to do.

The city says it needs the space for parking for Arkansas Riverfest on Memorial Day weekend and for other summer activities.

The four arrested protesters briefly met with police chief Stuart Thomas and then went peacefully with officers. They were handcuffed and put into a police van and driven to the Pulaski County jail.

They are arrested on a failure to disburse charge.

Good for them! These are nothing but new-age hippies, & you can't shame (or give enough to) deadbeats........In my opinion, they have not EARNED any right to 'protest', (much less vote. Military service should be REQUIRED in order to secure rights.
