JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The secretary of state's office is holding public hearings across Mississippi on three initiatives scheduled to be on the Nov. 8 general election ballot.

The hearings begin July 7 in Southaven and end Sept. 6 in Cleveland.

The proposed initiatives deal with eminent domain, the definition of personhood and voter ID. The eminent domain and personhood amendments are being challenged in the courts.

Pamela Weaver, spokeswoman for the secretary of state's office, says statements from all nine hearings will be available online at the secretary of state's website and will be published in an educational booklet.
