Of course they have the right to build a mosque. You can't say, though, that there aren't a gaggle of people in England (Europe in general) and countries all over the world that wish they had never been so liberal with their immigration policies. Their regrets are justified. We'll see just how "American" and "open-minded" folks are when it comes to enforcing our laws when they conflict with Sharia law.

I deployed to Iraq in 2005. Now, I suffer from a traumatic brain injury, PTSD, and a lower-back injury. I have to live with these impairments for the rest of my life. I'm lucky to be alive. 90% of the people of Iraq that I had interactions with are just like everyone else in the world, trying to make a living and follow their beliefs. Like all stereotypes, you cannot judge all because of the actions of few. In addition to the 90% civilian population I interacted with during my year long tour, the other 10% were considered the enemy. 90% of those enemies were from other countries (Syria mostly). The .01% of the enemy were native Iraqi's. Out of those Iraqi's, I saw many Iraqi men firing mortars towards our base, firing AK47's, and other weapons - but many of them did not have good aim. Later, I found out that those interrogated stated that they only fired towards our base to satisfy Al Qaeda and keep their family safe. What would you do if your family was threatened to be killed if you didn't comply? If you support those that would prevent the construction and/or just making these peoples lives more difficult, you are closed minded. If you are a Christian, act like one. These are people too. I don't know of any god that would want you to intentionally make the lives of innocent people more difficult than it already is. If you are a United States citizen, then act like one. The people building the mosque are too. You have freedom of religion and so do they.
