MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (AP) - A teenage burglary suspect didn't get far in Rutherford County. He was tackled by a woman who lived in the neighborhood.

Kyle Campbell, who is a woman, and her neighbor Stephanie Griffin were returning home Monday afternoon when they saw a man running from Campbell's home.

Griffin said the suspect fell down and she jumped from her vehicle and chased him. Deputy Will Pinson's report quoted Griffin as saying the young man tried to punch her and she punched him and then tackled him. By that time, another neighbor, Tony Woodall, had joined the chase and helped Griffin restrain the suspect until deputies arrived.

Police charged 18-year-old Marcel A. Jefferson with aggravated burglary. County jail records checked Wednesday didn't indicate whether Jefferson had an attorney.
