GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Mississippi State has suspended guard Jalen Steele indefinitely for violating team rules.
Steele, a junior averaging 9.5 points a game, did not play Saturday at No. 2 Florida.
Coach Rick Ray announced the suspension about three hours before the game. He said Steele didn't make the trip to Gainesville. Steele, a Knoxville, Tenn., native, has appeared in 13 games with 11 starts this season. He missed eight games after breaking his wrist against Florida Atlantic.
Ray said no further comment will be made.
