Grizzlies Hang On To Beat Pacers

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Rudy Gay scored 21 points, Marreese Speights added a season-high 19 points and nine rebounds, and the Memphis Grizzlies defeated the Indiana Pacers 98-92 at home Friday night.

Marc Gasol and Mike Conley finished with 15 points each, and Conley added six assists. O.J. Mayo added 13 for the Grizz, who won their second consecutive.

David West led the Pacers with 22 points on 8 of 13 from the field and 13 rebounds. Danny Granger had 19 points, and Dahntay Jones added 10 as a reserve, and was 7 of 8 from the free throw line.

The game was close throughout. There were 18 lead changes and 17 ties. Neither team managed to hold a double-digit lead. They were tied at 86 with 4:30 left, but Memphis outscored Indiana 12-6 the rest of the way, including converting 10 of 12 free throws down the stretch.
