JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Claresa Banks scored 18 points to lead Forest Hill past Southaven 76-74 in four overtimes to claim the girls Mississippi 6A state championship on Saturday night.
It is the Lady Patriots' (30-3) second consecutive state championship.
Anissa Jackson, who made the game-tying shot to send the game to the fourth overtime, added 17 points for Forest Hill. Alexis Collins, the game's Most Valuable Player, chipped in 16 points for the Lady Patriots.
Forest Hill had five players score in double figures. Essence Pulliam scored 11 points and Alexia Dean added 10.
Joanna Smith led Southaven with a game-high 22 points. Olivia Cunningham added 19 points, while A'Queen Hayes had 15 and Aliyah Miller added 10. The Lady Chargers finished with a 27-6 record.
