MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Blue Crew has a chance to win a national award and $10,000 toward the University of Memphis general scholarship fund.
Nearly 160 colleges and universities from 25 conferences are battling for the Naismith Student Section of the Year award. The winner will be determined through two rounds of public votes, combined with a scoring of finalists by the Naismith Awards Board of Selectors, which will review criteria, such as the student section's name and attendance, as well as photos, video and a write-up submitted by the nominating university.
You can vote through Facebook and the page "I Love College Hoops." The award is sponsored by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
The University of Kansas won the first-ever honor last year.
