MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Memphis coach Josh Pastner said Monday that junior guard Antonio Barton has a hairline fracture in his right foot. He will not need surgery, but Pastner will keep him out for four to six weeks.

Tigers team spokesperson Lamar Chance confirmed that Barton had X-rays and an MRI exam Monday morning, which revealed the non-displaced hairline avulsion fracture on his right fifth metatarsal. He hurt his foot Saturday in an 89-76 win at Southern Miss, the Tigers' 14th straight victory, which helped Memphis move into the Top 25 rankings released Monday. They are now at No. 22.

The Conference USA tournament begins March 13 in Tulsa, so Barton could be back in time for the postseason. He averages 6.2 points per game.

Memphis hosts Central Florida Wednesday night.

The Commercial Appeal first reported the extent of the injury.
