Jacob Wilson Named Louisville Slugger All-American

TUCSON, Ariz. – Senior third baseman Jacob Wilson was named a Louisville Slugger Third Team All-American on Thursday as announced by the Collegiate Baseball newspaper.

Wilson, the Conference USA Player of the Year, is the eighth player in program history to attain All-American status and he is the second in as many seasons. Appearing in a school record 225 games over his career, Wilson finished the season with a .320 average, 17 home runs and 64 RBI. The Arlington, Tenn., native had 17 doubles on the year and recorded multiple hits in 24 games and multiple RBI in 17 games.

As the eighth All-American selection in program history, Wilson joins Chad Zurcher (2011), Dan Uggla (2001), Mark Little (1994), Tim Dulin (1983/1984), Tim Corder (1982/1983), Dave Anderson (1981) and Ron McNeely (1975/1976) in the select company of U of M baseball All-Americans.

Wilson joined Rice starter Matthew Reckling as the two players representing Conference USA on the Louisville Slugger All-American teams.
