MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis guard Drew Barham, who redshirted this past season, will transfer to another institution following his graduation this summer, Tigers head coach Josh Pastner announced Thursday. Barham is on pace to earn his undergraduate degree this August.
“I fully support Drew’s decision and wish him all the best in the next step of his college career,” said Pastner. “He will earn his degree from Memphis in just over three years, and I am proud of him for that.”
Barham, who sat out the 2011-12 season as a redshirt, averaged 1.9 points and 1.1 rebounds in his Tigers career. The 6-foot-7, 195-pound junior played in 49 career games and made 11 starts. The Memphis, Tenn., native posted career highs for points (13) and rebounds (9) in the 2010-11 season-opening victory over Centenary.
A three-time Conference USA Academic Medal recipient, Barham is taking his second Athletes In Action (AIA) trip later this month, traveling to Germany and Poland. Last June, he played on an AIA team that toured East Asia.
