Memphis Eases Past Oral Roberts

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Antonio Barton scored 17 points and Joe Jackson added 13 points and five assists as Memphis defeated Oral Roberts 72-57 on Friday night.

Both Barton and Jackson connected on 5 of 8 shots from the field and hit a pair of 3-pointers each as Memphis (8-3) shot 52 percent (26 of 50) in the game.

D.J. Stephens had six points for Memphis, hitting all three of his shots, but also finished with 14 rebounds and five blocks, both career highs.

Damen Bell-Holter led Oral Roberts (5-7) with 18 points and a season-high 14 rebounds. Bell-Holter was the only player in double figures for the Golden Eagles, who lost their third straight.

Oral Roberts' leading scorer Warren Niles, who entered the game averaging 21.3 points a game, was limited to two points, missing 10 of 11 shots.
