MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The owners of the notorious Club Crave have agreed to permanently vacate 380 Beale Street.

The District Attorney's office filed a public nuisance petition against the club and its owners, Double Entity Entertainment, LLC, in December after a deadly shooting on Christmas Eve. The shooting was the latest in a string of violent crimes that plagued Club Crave, including stabbings, fights and assaults.

Under the order issued in Shelby County Environmental Court in Wednesday, Double Entity Entertainment is prohibited from operating a nightclub at 380 Beale, or under the name "Crave" in any other location. The order further states Double Entity can no longer promote, manage or operate any specific events in any venue if those events took place at Club Crave.

“What happened today in court proves what we have been saying: if your business is a frequent crime scene, we will shut you down,” said District Attorney General Amy Weirich.

Memphis Mayor A C Wharton had called the location "cursed" and called for the club to be shut down over a year ago. Previously called the Plush Club, the previous owners were also ordered to vacate when the club was declared a public nuisance in June 2010.

Mayor Wharton stated, “This is a major victory for the city, the Downtown Entertainment District, and Beale Street. Rest assured we will continue in our efforts to identify a more productive use for this property through our ongoing talks and negotiations with the property’s owner.”

Where will all the poor, misunderstood gang bangers and wannabes hang out now?

laughing @ jdanielmore. Yes, that's exactly what this crime-ridden cesspool of a city needs - more religion. It's already got more churches per capita than any other big city in North America. And just look at it. Religion is the problem, not the solution.

I would love to have this building for ministry. Does anyone know who I could talk to about it?

While I am happy to see the Club closed, it does nothing to address the deviant clients that will likely move to another location. They are the real problem.
