MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - The father of a Memphis judge, missing since Friday, was found dead Monday morning.
Memphis police were called to a wooded area near E Peebles Dr and Gill Dr around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, February 25. An MLGW employee found a pick-up truck off an access road matching the description of the missing man's, and officers located the body of an elderly man nearby.
General Sessions Judge Betty Thomas-Moore confirmed the man found was her father, Willie Burnett, Sr. The 78-year-old was last seen leaving his home in the 260-block of Simpson Avenue around 6 a.m. on Friday, February 22. He suffered from dementia and Alzheimer's.
Burnett's cause of death has not been determined, but investigators stated there were no apparent signs of foul play.
