MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A Kroger grocery store and surrounding businesses in the Cordova area were evacuated Friday afternoon for a gas leak.
According to MLGW, a private contractor accidentally bore into an underground gas facility near the Kroger at Highway 64 and Fletcher Trace Parkway. MLGW crews were called to repair the leak. The Memphis and Shelby County Fire Departments also assisted.
Evacuated businesses were allowed to reopen about two hours later.
