MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - Memphis is ready to celebrate the season Elvis style.

The King's castle is all decked out with the sights and sounds of the holidays. The mansion's lights and decorations were lit Friday night to a crowd of 500 plus.

American Idol finalist Skylar Laine from season 11 was the lucky person who flipped the switch this year. She had help from several kids from St. Jude.

Fans Polly Speed and Cindy Blankenship came to see both Laine and Graceland.

"It's fun," says Speed.

"She's a Mississippi girl and so are we," laughs Blankenship. "We love to see the decorations," Speed adds.

There are hundreds of blue lights lining the driveway as well as a life-sized nativity scene.

All the decorations were originally displayed by Elvis Presley and his family for the holidays. The mansion is also decked out with lights and Christmas trees the way it was when he lived there.

Graceland has held this ceremony the week before Thanksgiving for the last 5 years.

The lights will be lit through January.
